Our client has immediate opportunities for Chemical Process Engineer to join their team.

Salary Range: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year

Job Duties

1. Leading Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA / Control Plan) creation and updates (with supplier participation).
2. Creation of assembly/process flow charts or supervision of supplier assembly flow charts creation for manufacturing or rework activities.
3. Creation of Work Instructions or supervision of supplier Work Instruction creation for manufacturing or rework activities.
4. Creation of Control Plans or supervision of supplier Control Plan creation for manufacturing or rework activities.
5. Ensuring that all assembly processes operate within lean manufacturing principles (Value Stream Mapping, Five S, Kanban, and poka-yoke).
6. Identification of manufacturing process improvements to existing process at CM and tiered supplier base to include a cost benefit analysis to allow senior evaluation and approval.
7. Supporting our Quality department in the qualification and selection of new suppliers by inputting a thorough evaluation of the suppliers’ manufacturing capabilities.
8. Conduct work flow analysis and make recommendations for improvement in material handling and shop layout.
9. Establish and maintain work standards for product costing and productivity measurement.
10. Create Engineering Change Notices (ECN) as related to manufacturing process improvements.

Requirements

1. Engineering degree in appropriate field, Chemical Engineer.
2. Minimum 5 years’ experience as a process engineer in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
3. Experience of taking at least one project through launch plus at least one year of subsequent production.
4. Expertise in PFMEA techniques.
5. Expertise in Lean Manufacturing Techniques.
6. Experience of participation in a product development team from inception to manufacturing launch including evidence of the imposition of DFM/A into the design.
7. Knowledge of the requirements of TS16949 and ISO9000.
8. Knowledge and execution experience of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow.
9. Proven ability to create and execute project plans that have achieved the identified targets.
10. Excellent planning and organizational skills.
11. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
12. The ability to produce succinct reports/presentations to communicate status of assigned projects/tasks.
13. A tenacious personality that will not let an issue be left unresolved.
14. Demonstrated organizational skills with strong oral and written communication abilities.
15. Strong leadership abilities, able to lead effective meetings.
16. Quality Control background including problem solving and root cause analysis.
17. Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated diplomacy and professionalism.
18. Sound technical background (hands-on) with logical deductive reasoning approach.
19. Interest in developing technical skills through both internal and external training.
20. Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques.
21. Conviction to improve personally and support continuous improvement in the department and company as a whole.
22. Strong working knowledge of various software packages.
23. High level of personal integrity.
