Job summary

A public healthcare organization in Quesnel is seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to join the Emergency department at GR Baker Memorial Hospital. The role involves delivering compassionate patient care while participating in an extensive education program. Candidates must be registered with BC College of Nurses and Midwives and have emergency care experience. This position offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

  • One year of Emergency/Intensive Care experience and recent medical/surgical experience.
  • Must have completed Heart and Stroke BLS in the last 6 months.
  • Preference for participants who have completed an electrocardiogram (ECG) course prior to beginning REDEP.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care activities.
  • Deliver compassionate patient care in the Emergency department.
  • Complete education program prior to working in the department.

Skills

Effective verbal and written communication
Proficiency with computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office)
Ability to promote safe, competent patient care

Education

Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant
Post-graduate courses in ACLS, TNCC, PALS
