A leading engineering firm in Peterborough, Ontario, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to develop innovative mechanical/electrical integrated systems. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and be eligible for Professional Engineer status. The role demands strong technical design skills using Solidworks and requires excellent organizational abilities. Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Working Pattern: Fulltime
Working location: Peterborough, Ontario
The Designer will work with the Technical Lead, Chief Design Engineer, and Head of Engineering to ensure the technical efficacy, reliability, quality and safety of the product components and has a responsibility for the technical design solution and configuration management. The role involves performing detailed design activities including the development of 2D and 3D CAD product assemblies, models, and drawings; creating system and component integrated solutions for Naval Handling Systems. An individual in this role will be a self‑motivator and have good communication and leadership skills coupled with an applied knowledge of engineering principles, design, manufacturing, and production methods. The role is accountable for the delivery of technically challenging work packages, contributing directly to Defence objectives from within a large cross‑functional design team.
