As a Behaviour Interventionist (BI) at Monarch House your primary responsibility is implementing programs designed and supervised by a senior clinical team (of speech pathologists, Board-Certified Behavior Analyst® BCBAs, occupational therapists and physical therapists) to clients receiving services from Monarch House. You will work within an interdisciplinary team to support skill acquisition and/or decrease maladaptive behaviors while providing an engaging and positive client experience in a fast paced and frequently changing environment.

Work setup: Community-based in the NE quadrant. Part-time.

Salary: starting at $23.5 - 25 per hour

Schedule: Monday- Friday 11:30AM – 7:30PM and Saturday 8AM–3PM, 4:30PM (Hours are based on client availability. May not be scheduled for all)

• Responsible for implementing programs based on best practices.
• Uses systematic methods and behavioural strategies to support client in changing their behaviour.
• Contributes to the development of programs established by the clinical team to teach and reinforce a variety of skills for children and youth in a 1:1 and/or small group setting.
• Understands the functions of behavior and responds appropriately and safely when situations arise.
• Adheres to all clinical training, procedures, and protocols.
• Ability to adapt to changing conditions and/or routine and provide creative solutions.
• Responsible for creating a positive and engaging environment for the client.
• Supports clients with personal care tasks such as dressing, toileting, and eating.
• Responsible for maintaining the well-being and safety.

• 1-2 years experience working with children and youth with complex needs and/or developmental disabilities.
• Pursuing or completed education in Psychology, Speech or linguistics, occupational therapy or kinesiology.
• Education and demonstrated ability in ethical and professional practice.
• Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 6 months.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• A valid driver's license (Class 5) and reliable vehicle for daily use.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.

• Minimum 1 year experience working in client homes is a plus.
• Enrollment in or degree from a post‑secondary program of Psychology, Educational Psychology, Special Education or another related field is an asset.
• Autism Spectrum Disorder specific coursework, training or workshops an asset.
• Experience working with clients who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder or other developmental disabilities.
