About The Job
Shuswap Lake General Hospital is a 42-bed facility in the Thompson-Cariboo-Shuswap health service area. Located in Salmon Arm, BC, it offers surgical, inpatient, obstetrics, and 24-hour emergency services. The site features a small STAT Lab where MLTs rotate through Chemistry, Hematology Coag, Transfusion Medicine, and manual bench work, processing blood, urine, body fluids, and CSFs. Responsibilities include performing routine and complex tests, specimen collection, data entry, validating results, maintaining analyzers, and preparing solutions.
This is a casual position, meaning hours are not guaranteed and shifts may be at short notice. Casual employees can apply for internal postings, including permanent and temporary roles, with many opportunities for career advancement within Interior Health.
