Job summary

A regional healthcare provider in Winnipeg is seeking a Procurement Assistant to assist in the procurement of supplies and equipment. The role involves maintaining inventory, working with vendors, and providing administrative support to the management team. Candidates should have a minimum of two years of experience in a computerized purchasing environment, preferably with SAP. Good communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential. This position requires a Grade 12 education and a CPR certification.

Position: Procurement Assistant (Non-Clinical)

Position Overview

To assist in procurement of supplies, equipment, and services using a computerized purchasing system. Will work with the Operating Room and vendors to maintain accurate inventory of all consignment materials. Coordinates goods return and repairs. Provides routine project-based support to the Manager, Materials Management and/or the Supervisor, Distribution Services.

Experience
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years in a computerized purchasing environment, preferably SAP.
Education
  • Grade 12.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Keyboarding speed 45 wpm minimum.
  • Accurate, effective communication in English is required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word.
  • Works within the Centre’s core values, philosophy, vision, C.Q.I. goals, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, the public, and MHC and medical staff.
Physical Requirements
  • Physical health to meet the requirements of the position.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
