Job summary
A telecommunications company in Brampton is seeking a Cable Technician responsible for inspecting and installing telephone equipment. The ideal candidate has experience in cable installations and troubleshooting, with a secondary school graduation certificate. This permanent position requires 30-40 hours of work per week and focuses on both aerial and underground systems.
Qualifications
- Inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment.
- Install and maintain aerial and underground telephone equipment.
- Read blueprints to determine work requirements.
- Repair cable signals.
- Test equipment to locate transmission faults.
- Install trunking systems, circuits and equipment.
- Determine nature, cause and location of trouble.
- Connect, disconnect and relocate cable outlets.
- Determine work assignments.
- Install cable modems and software to enable Internet access.
- Splice, join and connect wires.
Education
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment
