About The Role
Responsible for the installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of plumbing fixtures for drainage and water systems.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Maintain and repair damaged dishwashers, broken pipes, and clogged drains.
2. Inspect all plumbing systems to identify leaks and take necessary actions.
3. Install underground sanitary, drainage, and water supply piping systems.
4. Assist pipefitters in the layout, assembly, and installation of pipe fixtures for water and air systems.
5. Cut pipes and transport them to construction locations where they are required.
6. Utilize hand tools in fitting valves, couplings, and components for tanks, pumps, or other plumbing systems.
7. Select and oversee the procurement of construction materials and equipment.
8. Dig trenches/install pipes and piping fixtures for water or sewage systems.
9. Fill pipes with resin or sand to prevent distortion and ensure they are steady during installation.
10. Immerse pipes in chemical solutions such as bleach and dispersants to remove oil, dirt, and scale.
11. Mount hangers and brackets on walls to provide support for pipes.
12. Ensure compliance with building codes and set safety standards.
13. Measure, cut, thread, and assemble pipes to required angles using measurement tools.
14. Inspect plumbing systems to identify issues and initiate repairs.
15. Liaise with contractors, pipefitters, and other construction workers to ensure an effective plumbing system.

Experience & Educational Requirements

1. High School diploma and training at a community college or trade school.
2. Minimum 3 years experience, preferably in a 5-star hotel.
3. Completion of a 4-year program under an experienced plumber to gain relevant knowledge and skills.
4. Able to lift, handle, and move heavy plumbing tools and materials such as plungers, wrenches, and domestic appliances.
5. Able to withstand hours of work while standing, crouching, or taking other rigorous positions.
6. Should be versed in identifying plumbing issues and providing solutions to resolve such issues.
7. Organized and disciplined, dedicated and loyal (essential).
8. Friendly, pleasant, and easy to be around (essential).
9. Work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines (essential).
10. Willing to take personal responsibility for own performances.
