Job Summary:

The Engineering Storekeeper is responsible for the efficient operation of the engineering store by overseeing the receipt, storage, issuance, and documentation of engineering materials and equipment. They ensure that the store operates smoothly to meet the needs of engineering projects and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Inventory Management:
    • Maintain accurate records of all materials, tools, and equipment in the store.
    • Define and continuously optimize Reorder Quantity (ROQ) and Reorder Point (ROP).
    • Ensure service levels meet desired targets while controlling inventory value.
    • Monitor stock levels and reorder items to prevent shortages or overstocking.
    • Conduct regular stock checks and audits to ensure accuracy.
    • Maintain a log of all issued items and track usage patterns.
  2. Receiving and Issuing Materials:
    • Receive and inspect incoming materials to ensure they match purchase orders and are in good condition.
    • Issue materials and tools to maintenance personnel as requested.
    • Ensure proper storage of materials to prevent damage and deterioration.
  3. Organization and Storage:
    • Keep the store area clean, organized, and easily accessible.
    • Label and categorize materials for easy identification.
    • Maintain a safe and orderly environment by adhering to safety standards.
  4. Coordination and Communication:
    • Coordinate with the maintenance team to determine necessary parts and tools for repairs and projects.
    • Communicate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve issues related to supply shortages or quality.
    • Provide maintenance teams with required tools and materials promptly to avoid delays.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of receipts, issues, and stock levels.
    • Generate reports on inventory usage and material costs for budgeting and planning.
    • Report discrepancies or issues with inventory to supervisors.
  6. Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure safety standards are met when storing hazardous materials or items requiring special handling.
    • Follow health and safety regulations to prevent accidents or misuse.
    • Properly dispose of expired or unusable materials following company guidelines.
  7. Support in Maintenance Operations:
    • Assist in identifying needs for new tools, materials, and equipment.
    • Support the maintenance team during projects with logistical needs.
    • Ensure compliance with IFOS procedures in attendance and OT documentation.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualifications:
    • Associate or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field (preferred).
    • Proven experience as a Storekeeper, Warehouse Clerk, or similar role.
    • Familiarity with inventory management software and systems.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills for coordinating between mechanical and electrical teams.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to work independently as a team player.
    • Good interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience:
    • Storing, issuing, and receiving materials and supplies; applying purchasing procedures; applying inventory control methods; operating material handling equipment; entering and retrieving data using computerized records systems.
  • Skills:
    • Inventory management, record keeping, order and receiving, supplier coordination, health and safety compliance, time management, communication, teamwork, proficiency in MS Excel & MS Office / Limble (advantage), SAP/Fiori SAP Ariba (advantage).

Working Conditions:

  • Work may involve office environment within a manufacturing or industrial facility.
  • Regular visits to plant floor or field, exposing the planner to noise, heat, machinery, and electrical equipment.
  • Occasional extended hours or on-call duties, especially during outages or critical failures.
