Job Purpose
Research Laboratories Support Specialist is responsible for coordinating operational activities in research laboratories, providing support services to faculty, students, researchers, and technicians, maintaining standards for lab operations to ensure the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality control of the laboratories and compliance with university regulations and standards.

Operational Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate the ordering, inventory, storage, and maintenance of supplies, lab ware, and instruments essential to the laboratory operations.
2. Plan and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the laboratory.
3. Assist with the development of quality standards and programs.
4. Monitor and maintain quality of laboratory operations in compliance with accreditation standards, safety and environmental regulations, and other applicable requirements.
5. Oversee maintenance of test equipment and instruments to ensure accuracy and efficient performance.
6. Maintain record keeping and communications concerning purchase requests and contract submissions, maintain records for the internal store, provide a monthly summary of department spending and budget tracking.
7. Maintain record keeping and maintenance schedule for shared equipment, including maintenance of inventory records for shared equipment.
8. Manage coordination and communication between the Director of Laboratories Office and internal and external research stakeholders.
9. Support the line manager with the preparation of presentations and reports on research support strategy, activities, and accomplishments.
10. Assist in communicating Research Lab capabilities through interaction with Communications as well as other media-oriented outlets.
11. Communicate and support the training of other research support staff on administration and internal business procedures pertinent to the Research Laboratories Office.
12. Support compliance with the University's information security policies and procedures and report breaches or other security risks accordingly.
13. Adhere to the University's information security and confidentiality policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordingly.
14. Coordinate with other departments to facilitate the accomplishment of tasks and responsibilities.
15. Demonstrate a strong commitment and practice to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
16. Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager.

Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
Required Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience for expatriates.
