Job summary
A construction consulting firm in Dubai is seeking a highly skilled Material Engineer to oversee and ensure the quality of construction materials in major infrastructure projects. The role involves monitoring material testing, approving sources, and overseeing quality control procedures to meet project specifications and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Witness all laboratory and in-situ tests performed by the contractor or third-party testing agencies.
- Prepare and manage material samples for testing according to project specifications.
- Coordinate with Work Inspectors to confirm approval for testing and resolve related issues.
- Ensure efficient and accurate sampling and testing to prevent delays in construction activities.
- Conduct regular inspections of delivered materials to confirm compliance with approved suppliers and sources.
- Participate in quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) activities to maintain high project standards.
- Review and approve material testing reports and ensure proper acceptance of materials.
- Enforce site safety procedures during material handling and testing operations.
