Job Overview:
The Claims Payment Processor main duties are to report the processed claims to the payer, prepare EFTs (Electronic fund transfer) for claims, updates the accounting and other financial software, and send statement of accounts to our clients. This role has the over-all responsibility to coordinate activities in an effective and efficient manner in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting Department. The position reports to the Claims Payments Manager.
What you do:
Send the processed claims reports to the payers twice in a month.
Prepare the payments for the providers within the TAT.
Ensures the financial transactions are booked in a timely manner and are compliant with proper supporting backup.
Ensures control procedures are followed.
Ensures all accounting deadlines are met.
Provides professional correspondence internally and externally, i.e. members of insurance companies and their client-related claims.
Resolves accounting discrepancies.
Monitors transactions to determine accuracy, completeness and conformance to established policies and internal procedures.
Keeps track of records and files and provide correct information of record details when required.
Maintains various account reconciliations and post necessary monthly journal entries.
What you bring:
Bachelor s Degree; Finance / Account or equivalent background preferred.
1+ years relevant experience; Experience in a TPA, BPO, Hospitals or Medical Centers is an added advantage.
Experience with accounting Software is preferred.
Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
Strong negotiation, communication, attention to detail, time management skills.
Capable of perceiving problems as they develop and communicating such to their immediate superior.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and maintain focus under pressure.
Ability to comprehend, capture as well as interpret complex financial information.
Ability to adapt to change, meet the changing demands of the work environment, any delays or other unexpected demands.
Ability to treat people with respect under all circumstances, instill trust in others besides upholding the values of the organization.
Accurate and strong analytical.
Must be organized and posses the ability to multi-task.
Physically fit to carry out duties.
Legally permitted to work in the country of operations.
Fluency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and general internet navigation and research skills.
