Job Title: Customer Solution Architect - Smart Building

Your Role – International, Challenging, and Future-Oriented

We’re looking for a new team member to join our Scalable Customer Architectures group and help drive the growth of Building X – our open, AI-enabled IoT platform for smart buildings. Building X redefines how building data is used, unlocking new value and insights.

As a Smart Building – Customer Solution Architect, you’ll work closely with sales and pre-sales teams to guide customers through their digital transformation journeys. You’ll engage with stakeholders at all levels to design solutions that align with operational goals and priorities.

Your new responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer needs, analyse opportunities, and align solutions with customer strategies and requirements.
• Lead technical risk assessments for complex, integrated, and non-standard projects to support management approvals.
• Design secure and scalable edge-to-cloud solution architectures that address customer objectives and enable digital transformation.
• Prepare and deliver value-based workshops to identify customer pain points, desired outcomes, and relevant use cases.
• Support execution of complex solutions, including 3rd party integrations, custom developments, and non-standard technologies.
• Calculate and validate customer ROI and drive cost optimization through value engineering and IT/OT portfolio alignment.
• Support and lead bids, tenders, PoCs, presentations, demos, exhibitions, and roadshows.
• Monitor the progress of critical projects throughout their lifecycle and contribute directly to project execution when needed.
• Build strong, collaborative relationships with regional leads, business partners, and internal teams to ensure alignment and monetization of support services.
• Ensure every customer interaction is professional, engaging, and value-driven, while promoting open communication and knowledge sharing across the team.
• Collaborate with Bid Management and regional teams to develop proposals and ensure seamless project handover.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure innovative and future-ready solutions.
• This role requires regular travel across Siemens countries andfrequent site visits for short- to long-term project execution.

Qualifications & Skills – Digital and Solid

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field, with 10+ years of technical experience in enterprise environments, especially within digital buildings and smart infrastructure.
• Deep knowledge of smart building technologies, IoT platforms, and solution architectures — with a focus on cloud and edge-to-cloud models.
• Strong grasp of IT/OT integration, cybersecurity best practices, and standard communication protocols (e.g., APIs, SDKs).
• Hands-on experience with operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), databases (MS SQL, Oracle, MongoDB), high-availability systems (VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Proven background in consulting, including co-creation with customers, design thinking, and use case development.
• Experience in ROI analysis, value engineering, and aligning solutions with business KPIs and outcomes.
• Familiarity with key verticals such as data centers, transportation hubs, healthcare, commercial real estate, higher education, or smart cities.
• Comfortable working in dynamic, fast paced, and geographically distributed environments.
• Proactive, collaborative, and independent with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
