- Diagnose and treat childhood illnesses from minor health problems to serious diseases
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and assessments
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests to determine medical conditions
- Develop and manage comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual patients
- Prescribe medications and monitor their effectiveness and side effects
- Educate patients and families about medical conditions treatment options and preventive health measures
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals including nurses specialists and therapists to ensure coordinated and effective patient care
- Provide emergency medical care when necessary and refer patients to other specialists as needed
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and reports
- Stay updated with the latest medical research treatments and technologies in pediatric care
- Medical degree from a recognized institution
- Board certification in pediatrics or a relevant sub-specialty
- Minimum of five years of experience in pediatric care
- Excellent communication diagnostic and problem-solving skills
