Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Represent areas of knowledge, understanding, and skills, in all their richness, to students taught.
2. Inculcate by precept and example the highest regard for truth, justice, equality of opportunity, human rights, benevolence, and compassion.
3. Engage and motivate students to achieve at levels beyond their expectations and previous limits.
4. Use excellent subject knowledge, pedagogic, and interpersonal skills to enthuse students and enable them to enjoy learning.
5. Make full use of ICT and new technologies to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for students of all ages and attainment levels.
6. Plan lessons considering students’ individual learning needs, styles, preferences, and capabilities.
7. Encourage and enable all students to become effective, confident, and independent lifelong learners.
8. Maintain excellent professional relationships with colleagues and contribute to the school's ongoing improvement.
9. Plan and deliver a programme of learning opportunities and activities to enrich the curriculum.
10. Cooperate with colleagues to establish and maintain fair disciplinary practices and ensure student safety from all forms of abuse.

Teaching:

1. Plan and prepare schemes of work and complete planning documentation.
2. Teach effectively, considering all students’ individual educational needs.
3. Set and mark work for students in school, at home, and elsewhere as appropriate.
4. Promote students’ intellectual, moral, spiritual, cultural, physical, and personal development, providing guidance and advice.
5. Record and report on students’ personal and social needs.
6. Participate in whole school development and promote best practices.
