Electrical Estimation Draftsman
Job summary
A leading engineering firm in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to prepare and modify electrical drawings, review tender documents, and assist in bidding proposals. Ideal candidates will have a diploma in Electrical Engineering, extensive experience in Oil & Gas projects, and proficiency with AutoCAD. Commitment to accuracy in estimation and strong communication skills are essential. This is a full-time on-site role.
Qualifications
- 35 years of relevant experience in estimation and drafting in Oil & Gas construction projects in the UAE or GCC.
- Good knowledge of UAE standards DEWA/ADNOC/SEWA specifications.
- Experience in preparing cable schedules, load schedules, and panel schedules.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and modify electrical drawings using AutoCAD.
- Review tender/IFC drawings for electrical BOQ.
- Assist estimation engineers with technical proposals.

Prepare and modify electrical drawings such as SLDs wiring layouts lighting earthing and cable routing using AutoCAD.
Review tender/IFC drawings and extract quantities for electrical BOQ.
Assist estimation engineers in preparing technical and commercial proposals for bids.
Perform material take-offs and prepare detailed quantity sheets.
Cross-check drawing specifications and ensure compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
Coordinate with procurement and engineering teams for clarification on material specs and drawings.
Maintain drawing logs revision history and ensure up-to-date documentation.
Diploma or ITI in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
35 years of relevant experience in estimation and drafting in Oil & Gas construction projects in the UAE or GCC.
Proficient in AutoCAD MS Excel and basic estimation tools.
Good knowledge of UAE standards DEWA/ADNOC/SEWA specifications.
Experience in preparing cable schedules load schedules and panel schedules.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in quantity estimation.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Knowledge of electrical codes such as IEC NEC.
Familiarity with estimation software (e.g. CCS Candy or similar) is an advantage.
