A leading consulting firm is seeking a Senior Account Executive in Cape Town to support its PR and communications team. We are seeking a Cape Town-based Senior Account Executive to join our energetic PR and communications team. This role is perfect for someone with 2–3 years of agency experience who enjoys research, administration, and building strong media and influencer relationships. You’ll play a vital support role to a talented corporate team, helping to track coverage, prepare reports, coordinate projects, and deliver accurate, high-quality work. It’s an opportunity to sharpen your media skills, develop client-facing confidence, and grow your PR career in the corporate and financial services space.
- Support senior team members in the development and execution of PR strategies.
- Assist with day-to-day account administration and project coordination.
- Conduct research to identify media opportunities and build/update media lists.
- Distribute press releases, media pitches, briefing notes, and other content.
- Monitor and compile media coverage into clear, client-ready reports.
- Support proactive media pitching to journalists and influencers.
- Stay updated on PR, media, and influencer trends to share fresh insights.
- Contribute to team brainstorms and idea generation for campaigns.
- Help coordinate press interviews, events, and other client activities.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in PR, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
- 2–3 years’ experience in a PR agency preferable (corporate/financial services exposure an advantage).
- Excellent attention to detail with strong writing, editing, and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with media monitoring tools.
- Organisational and multitasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- A good understanding of the South African media landscape.
- Experience supporting corporate/ financial services teams a bonus.
- A strong team player who enjoys supporting others but can also work independently.
