About the Department

The SME sales department at Pnet stands as a bridge between technology and the aspirations of small to medium-sized businesses, offering them the tools and solutions necessary to thrive in today's competitive landscape. However, what truly sets this department apart is not just its strategic significance, but also the deeply ingrained culture of Pnet that permeates through its operations.

Within the SME sales department, where nine distinct teams collaborate and more than 40 dedicated consultants work tirelessly, a unique and inspiring culture has taken root. When entering the SME department, you would experience a family-like environment that has an undeniable competitive spirit. There is a palpable emphasis on support, training and development which not only aids professional growth but also contributes to the overall effectiveness of the department.

In conclusion, the SME sales department at Pnet isn't solely defined by its strategic significance in catering to the SME market. Responsibilities/ Outcomes
  • Perform a minimum of 50 prospecting calls (cold calls) per day to identify potential new business or continue to promote customer awareness with previous contacts, identify key decision makers pushing for new business leads and contacts.
  • A minimum of 15 Connects per day (calls over 2 minutes long)
  • A minimum of 2 Proposals a day
  • Minimum talk time of 70 minutes
  • Generate minimum 1 new lead (ACF) per day
  • Preparing proposals and quotations that identify clients' needs in a professional and timeous manner.
  • Developing and maintaining company presence in the marketplace through cold calling, emailing, and phoning.
  • Identifying new corporate customers through networking, referrals, and research.
  • Matching prospects requirements to existing service via well-constructed written proposals.
  • Professionally demonstrating service offered.
  • Resolving customer enquiries quickly and effectively.
  • Following up on all leads rapidly and effectively.
  • Dealing with all meetings and clients in an urgent and focused manner.
  • Ensuring proper comprehension of Pnet services offered.
  • Training customers on the proper use of the Pnet service.
  • Performing customer care calls to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Do follow up and repeat visits and calls to develop long term sustainable relationships with clients.
Minimum Requirements
  • Driver's license and own reliable vehicle.
  • A minimum 1-3 years' experience in sales with a proven track record.
  • Excellent telephone skills.
  • Cold Calling experience.
  • Ability to deal with senior executives at a corporate level.
  • Accurate and reliable forecasting with good numerical and analytical ability.
  • Any previous experience on a CRM system would be beneficial.
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to function independently with high levels of responsibility and accountability.
  • B2B consultative sales experience will be advantageous.

  • Working knowledge of direct selling, database marketing and cold calling.
  • Self-motivated, self-driven and high activity levels.
  • Develop persistency and tenacity.
  • Have high energy levels and be able to cope with a multitude of tasks, problems and challenges on an ongoing basis.
  • Ability to deal with senior executives at corporate level - personal presentation, communication skills and grammar, social and business etiquette must be at a very professional level.
  • Mental agility and 'thinking on your feet'.
  • Handling objections and creating value for the company's products and services in a highly competitive market.
  • Ability to fully understand the needs of prospects and clients.
  • Have a needs assessment or problem-solving mentality.
  • Capacity to develop and deliver complex proposals.
  • Closing new business.
  • Understanding the competitors and competitor offerings, pricing and differentiators.
  • Computer/software and technology knowledge.
  • Trends in Industry.
  • Industry knowledge within all relevant business sectors.
  • Presentation skills up to board room level.
KPI's
  • 40 Prospecting Calls per day.
  • 15 Connects per day.
  • 2 Proposals per day.
  • 1.5 hours talk time daily.
  • 3 ACF's per day.
