Purpose of the position: To meet the quality and commitment dates for delivery of all vehicles.
Outcomes:
- All department deadlines are met and cars are ready for collection as per the commitment to the clients.
- All repair work is completed in accordance with the required quality standard and signed off.
- All workshop staff are well managed, productive and engaged.
- The costs of the repair are completed in accordance with the authorization and the costs of consumables are minimized.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- A comprehensive weekly/daily plan is drawn up showing what vehicles should be in which department and by when the work should be completed.
- Schedule the warranty/comeback work with appropriate levels of urgency.
- Throughout the day checks are done to ensure that the team is completing the work as planned/scheduled.
- Regularly meet with the buyer and store man to ensure that required parts are available and do not hold up the scheduled work.
- Ensure that all vehicles are completed.
- All extras and additional are raised by the estimator timeously.
- Complete an end of day production report.
- Manage all out work.
- Ensure that the workshop is using the correct and updated job card and it is signed off by the correct team member after completion of the work in each department.
- Troubleshoot and make reasonable suggestions in order to create solutions for the challenges being faced.
- Oversee the overall pre-delivery repair quality check.
- Liaise with clients regarding any technical elements should the service manager require this.
- Ensure all team members know what is required of them on a weekly/daily basis.
- Keep the workshop neat, tidy, and presentable at all times.
- Ensure the workshop is always audit-ready for factory approvals.
- Monitor the paint shop and ensure that they paint in accordance with what has been allowed on the job card.
- Manage the expenses of the paint job and ensure that there is no wastage.
- Ensure that trimers and other team members do not cause damage to parts and vehicles.
- Ensure all spray booths are cleaned and floor filters changed every 6 weeks.
- Change ceiling filters every 6 months.
- Keep spray booths neat, tidy, and clean at all times.
- Account for all equipment and keep it in good working order.
- Service all hoists, compressors, and spray booths as required.
