Job description

Specialising in premium pet foods and accessories, Absolute Pets is the leading pet retailer in South Africa with over 190 stores across the country.

Our team of experts is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor for the Outbound department at our Cape Town warehouse based in Marconi Beam.

If you want to join our team, these will be the key areas that you will need to be responsible for:

  • Plan, organise, control the warehouse outbound processes.
  • Lead the warehouse team to ensure a high standard of order fulfilment and process adherence.
  • Daily planning of all outbound tasks with the warehouse team.
  • Liaise with management to ensure that agreed SLA’s and internal and external expectations are met.
  • Consistently meet the required infill rate threshold to stores as determined by management from time to time.
  • Collaboration with other warehouse departments to achieve optimal performance.
  • Ensure thorough investigation and reporting of damages daily.
  • Ascertain root causes and address accordingly.
  • Put preventative measures in place to reduce the level of damages.
  • Manage and report on stock losses.
  • Participate in meetings and provide feedback on focus areas.
  • Ensure housekeeping is maintained at a high standard and that risks are identified, reported and mitigated.
  • Use the Ador WMS system effectively to meet agreed targets and expectations.
  • Identify areas for systems improvement and enhancement.
  • Report any system failures to support and management teams.
  • Review and meet agreed expectations for store delivery frequencies and route schedules.
  • Manage IBT traffic effectively between stores and warehouse as well as warehouse to warehouse.
  • Prepare weekly transfers orders and manage the transport leg of the shipments to other regions.
  • Ensure reporting deadlines are met daily as agreed and stipulated by the business.
  • Active management of fleet, through vehicle maintenance, driver licenses, PDP’s and fuel requests.
  • Ensure accurate and timeous fleet management reporting.
  • Compile weekly KPI report for short picks/damages/fuel spend/IBT’s/delivery discrepancies.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and discuss these with management for possible investigation and implementation
Staff Management
  • Manage the outbound team, including pickers, packers, drivers and QC team.
  • Ensure team adherence to SOPs and foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and responsibility.
  • Consistently review staff KPI’s to ensure adherence to set culture.
  • Conduct daily team briefings and allocate tasks to meet dispatch targets.
  • Take corrective action where processes, policies, or procedures are not followed.
  • Contribute to the achievement of warehouse KPIs through effective team management and process improvement.
  • Work closely with the Inventory and Inbound Supervisors to ensure cross-functional alignment and efficiency.
