Description

Our client in the automotive component manufacturing industry is seeking to employ a Warehouse Supervisor to join their team based in Blackheath, Cape Town.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Warehousing, Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field (NQF Level 5).
  • Up to 5 years of experience in Warehousing, Inventory and Stock Control, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Procurement within a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and warehousing systems.

Responsibilities:

Warehousing Operations (35%)
  • Oversee and ensure successful execution of weekly cycle counts.
  • Coordinate monthly stocktakes with production and support departments.
  • Enforce FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and Line of Sight (LOS) stock management principles.
  • Investigate stock variances and exceptions and implement corrective actions.
  • Review and improve stock control procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Collaborate with the planning team to verify receipts and issued goods, including semi-finished components and products.
  • Ensure all received products are correctly coded, compliant with procedures, and stored in designated areas.
  • Process non-conforming products according to company procedures and ensure daily scrap removal.
  • Monitor and control damaged stock in WIP (Work in Progress), investigate causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with consignment stock procedures.
  • Create and maintain work instructions for warehousing processes.
  • Stay updated with developments in inventory control technologies.
Administration, Systems and Reporting (25%)
  • Maintain accurate data on SAP, including processing credit notes and updating records.
  • Capture product rotations and scrap differences on relevant systems.
  • Maintain checklists, registers, and spreadsheets accurately.
  • Order stationery, protective clothing, and gear timely.
  • Complete health and safety checklists and report incidents promptly.
Compliance (10%)
  • Operate within controls and procedures to ensure integrity.
  • Identify and report risks and concerns.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and procedural requirements.
  • Maintain warehouse health and safety compliance.
Customer Service (10%)
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Represent the company in meetings and resolve service issues efficiently.
  • Address problems creatively, upholding company values.
Staff Supervision (10%)
  • Ensure team members sign performance agreements.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and provide feedback.
  • Work with HR on objectives and development plans.
  • Facilitate training and employee development.
  • Handle employee relations fairly and promptly.
Cost and Financial Control (10%)
  • Participate in budget preparation.
  • Promote cost-effective resource use.
  • Monitor spending and report deviations.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction.
