Job description

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager for our client based Johannesburg North,Gauteng. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years experience in warehousing and logistics, with a minimum of 5 years in a management role. A relevant tertiary qualification and proven ability to manage people, processes, and compliance are essential.

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Warehouse Management.

• Minimum 10 years experience in warehousing/logistics, with 5 years at management level.

• Strong knowledge of warehousing systems (ERP/WMS) and Microsoft Office.

• Sound understanding of health, safety, and legal compliance in warehousing.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Valid drivers licence (Code 08 or higher).

• Advantageous: Knowledge of cold storage, FMCG, or manufacturing warehouse environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full warehouse function including receiving, storage, inventory control, dispatch, and distribution.

• Ensure compliance with all Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and labour legislation requirements.

• Manage stock accuracy, cycle counts, and reconciliation processes.

• Develop and implement operational procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

• Lead and mentor a team of supervisors, drivers, and warehouse staff.

• Ensure security, housekeeping, and maintenance of warehouse facilities.

• Manage supplier and transporter relationships to ensure on-time, cost-effective delivery.

• Prepare and present operational reports, KPIs, and budgets.

• Maintain compliance with customs, SARS, and other regulatory requirements where applicable.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in line with company strategy.
