Are you an experienced educator and leader with a passion for strengthening early learning in under-resourced communities?

We're looking for a dynamic, organised and mission-driven Programme Manager to join our Gauteng regional team.

Grow ECD is committed to providing 5-star early learning opportunities in every neighbourhood by equipping ECD centres with the skills, support, and resources needed to operate as professional, financially sustainable businesses.

Our free mobile app offers a comprehensive suite of tools, training, and resources for centre owners, teachers, and parents, enabling effective management and high-quality early learning.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will be responsible for driving educational excellence across centres in the Grow Programme, ensuring that owners, teachers and mentors have the support, training, tools and guidance needed to deliver high-quality early learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement the Grow Programme in centres according to their support packages and required standards.
  • Keep the regional planner updated to ensure centres receive the correct support.
  • Monitor mentor reports and centre assessments and ensure improvement plans are implemented.
  • Lead and support the Education Mentor team to deliver high-quality mentoring and centre visits.
  • Guide mentors in planning, problem-solving, and improving centre performance.
  • Coordinate regional training according to the national training plan and calendar.
  • Facilitate training sessions for centre owners and teachers.
  • Promote and support completion of Grow online training modules.
  • Promote participation in face-to-face Grow training sessions.
  • Drive active use of the Grow ECD mobile app and online curriculum.
  • Identify challenges with app or curriculum usage and implement solutions.
  • Oversee learner assessments and teacher evaluations and guide improvement actions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with centre owners and teachers.
  • Conduct centre visits to provide educational and operational support.
  • Support the Regional Manager in planning and facilitating meetings with programme centre owners.
  • Coordinate external monitoring and evaluation processes when required.
  • Submit monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Contribute to education strategy.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A relevant Degree in Education (ECE / ECD or Foundation Phase preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in ECD teaching, with strong classroom practice.
  • Demonstrated understanding of early childhood development programmes, curriculum implementation, and quality standards.
  • Experience in educational leadership, including coaching, mentoring or managing teachers / teams.
  • Proven experience in facilitating adult training or professional development.
  • Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple centres and priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust-based relationships with centre owners and teachers.
  • Confidence using technology, including mobile apps, MS Office and online training platforms.
  • English proficiency; the ability to speak Sesotho / Sotho and Zulu is an advantage.
  • Valid driver's licence and reliable transport.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence and bring people along toward a shared vision.
  • Analytical skills to interpret data and guide improvement.
  • Initiative, adaptability, and solution-focused thinking.
