Job Title: Training and Development Manager - Security

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Training and Development Manager to join our client’s operations within the Security and Facilities Management sector. This role is suited to a strategic yet hands‑on training professional who understands the regulatory, operational, and people development demands of the security environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing training frameworks that ensure security personnel are competent, compliant, professional, and operationally ready, while meeting all statutory and industry requirements. (Valid License and own vehicle mandatory)

POSITION INFO:

What you’ll be doing
  • Develop and implement a structured training and development strategy aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct training needs analyses across security and facilitation operations
  • Design, deliver, and oversee training programmes (classroom, practical, on‑site, and refresher training)
  • Manage onboarding and induction programmes to ensure new security staff meet operational and compliance standards
  • Ensure full compliance with PSIRA, SETA, Department of Labour, BCEA, and OHSA requirements
  • Coordinate and manage SETA-accredited training, learnerships, and skills development initiatives
  • Maintain accurate training records, attendance registers, assessments, and reporting
  • Implement talent development, succession planning, and skills upliftment initiatives
  • Liaise closely with Operations, and external training providers to align training with operational needs
  • Monitor training effectiveness and continuously improve learning outcomes
What you’ll need
  • 5–7+ years’ proven experience in Training & Development, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
  • Strong experience within the Security industry is essential (facilitation/facilities exposure advantageous)
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Training & Development, Industrial Psychology, or Security Management
  • PSIRA registration (Grade B or higher preferred)
  • ETDP SETA Assessor/Moderator registration advantageous
  • Solid understanding of security operations, compliance standards, and client service requirements
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and leadership skills
  • High attention to detail with strong administrative and reporting capability
  • Valid driver’s license, own vehicle and willingness to travel as required
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
