REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Training & Development, Education, HR, or Operations Management
  • Preferably 710 years experience in training centre management, learning and development, or a similar operational training environment.
  • Strong understanding of SETA-accredited training, assessments, moderation, and certification
  • Proven experience managing technical or industrial training programmes
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing staff teams
  • Excellent organisational and operational management skills
  • High attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and proactive decision-making
DUTIES
  • Oversee the daily operations of the training centre, ensuring efficient scheduling, resource allocation, and facility management
  • Maintain training calendars, booking systems, learner records, and attendance registers
  • Ensure compliance with the Skills Development Act, SETA requirements, and company policies
  • Manage training assets, equipment, tools, and learning materials
  • Prepare and manage the centres operational budget, including procurement and cost control
  • Coordinate and implement accredited and non-accredited training programms
  • Ensure all programms meet SETA accreditation requirements and quality standards
  • Oversee assessments, moderation, learner feedback, and certification processes
  • Monitor facilitator performance, training quality, and learner competency outcomes
  • Update training content to remain aligned with industry standards and legislative requirements
  • Maintain quality management systems (QMS) and training centre documentation
  • Prepare reports for management, SETAs, and external auditors
  • Manage facilitators, assessors, moderators, and administrative staff
  • Engage with SETAs, external auditors, industry bodies, suppliers, and professional associations.
  • Develop relationships with clients, partners, and community programmes to expand training opportunities
  • Ensure safe training environments, especially for high-risk or technical training (e.g., refractory, petrochemical, engineering)
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety procedures
  • Identify new course offerings and market opportunities
