About the role

The Civil Engineering student will support the company by participating in the technical development of civil engineering designs, assisting with tender documents compilation and supervising projects activities on site. The role provides hands‑on exposure to engineering operations within a professional contracting and construction environment. The job holder will report to our Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and review of civil engineering drawings & designs.
• Assist senior engineer in producing technical reports.
• Assist in financial management of project & compiling of projects financial reports.
• Collecting and organizing technical information required in tender documents for upcoming projects.
• Conduct research needed to compile accurate and competitive tender proposals.
• Act as a junior supervisor on construction sites under guidance of the Project Manager.
• Monitor daily site activities, be responsible for safety, quality and technical specifications.
• Compile progress reports for projects & attend monthly site meetings.

Minimum Requirements

• South African unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
• Must not have participated on the YES programme before.
• A pass in Matric.
• National Diploma/ Bsc, B-Eng, B-Tech in Civil Engineering.
• No experience is required.
• Must be willing to learn.
