Reports To: Operations Manager / HR Executive / CEO
Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement the company’s training and development strategy.
- Align training programs with organisational goals and industry requirements.
- Conduct training needs analysis (TNA).
- Successful implementation of training plan
- Compliance with regulatory requirements
Training Delivery & Coordination
- Facilitate training sessions where required.
- Coordinate internal and external training providers.
- Schedule and manage training logistics (venues, materials, attendance).
Assessment & Quality Assurance
- Ensure assessment processes comply with regulatory bodies (i.e. SETA).
- Monitor training effectiveness and learner performance.
- Conduct moderation and quality checks.
- Maintain accurate training records and reports.
Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare training reports for management.
- Supervise trainers and training coordinators.
- Mentor and develop training staff.
- Strong administration and reporting ability
Working Conditions
- Office-based with occasional travel
- May require weekend or after-hours training sessions
- Interaction with internal staff, external providers, and regulatory bodies
- Design learning materials, manuals, assessments, and course content.
- Ensure training content aligns with SETA, QCTO, NQF, or relevant compliance standards.
- Develop blended learning solutions (classroom, online, practical).
Desired experience & Qualifications
- Trade Tested Artisan (Red Seal) in a relevant engineering or technical trade (Compulsory).
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Technical Education, (advantageous).
- Registered Assessor and Moderator with the relevant SETA.
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of QCTO Occupational Qualifications, Curriculum Documents, and Assessment Specifications.
- Proven experience working within merSETA grant regulations.
- Minimum 3–5 years post-qualification technical industry experience within engineering, manufacturing, mining, or related industrial environments.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a technical training, facilitation, or learning management role within a SETA/QCTO-aligned environment.
- Strong understanding of NQF, SAQA, and Skills Development legislation, including compliance requirements for audits and external verification.
- Experience in preparing and maintaining learner portfolios of evidence (PoE), assessment records, and audit-ready documentation in line with QCTO standards.
Preferred
- Exposure to multi-site or client-based training delivery.
- Experience managing facilitators or delivery teams.
