What are we looking for?

We are seeking an experienced and talented Team Leader to join part of our Team.

What do we expect from the candidate?

The candidate will be responsible for guiding and motivating a group of employees to achieve their goals, ensuring effective communication and collaboration within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead Operations Assistants in executing daily factory tasks as per instructions from Production Supervisor / Foreman / Stores Foreman.
  • Establish and facilitate a culture of mutual respect, high work ethic, teamwork, and continual improvement.
  • Maintain discipline.
  • Provide on-the-job training and guidance in tasks to be performed and processes to be followed, including input into training needs of Operations Assistants.
  • Ensure high standards of housekeeping on a daily basis.
  • Ensure that tasks are conducted according to the company’s documented procedures.
  • At all times implement and adhere to all aspects of the RAIMS (Rolfes Agri Integrated Management Systems).
  • Adequate supervision of subordinates (inward reports) to ensure adherence to the relevant RAIMS policies and procedures.
  • Safe manufacturing and follow plant operating procedures.
  • Complete required paperwork as per RAIMS procedures.
  • Must follow safety, health and environment related requirements.
  • Enforce the correct use and care of PPE.
  • Adhere to other site regulations and relevant policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all safety accidents, incidents, near misses and any other abnormal observations or events are immediately reported by staff under your control and then reported to the Production Supervisor / Foreman / Stores Foreman.
  • Any other reasonable instruction or task allocated by the Plant Performance Manager / Foreman / Supervisor and/or any other senior manager.

Qualifications

  • Must-Have: Grade 12 (Matric).
  • 1-2 years of working experience in a similar role.
  • Working experience in plant operations and machinery to manufacture highly formulated chemical products.
  • Able to tackle complex problems effectively and adapt to fast-paced development environments.
  • A strong leader with the ability to mentor junior staff.
  • Proven track record of working effectively in remote team settings, demonstrating flexibility, and contributing positively to a collaborative work environment.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex requirements, identify bottlenecks, and devise effective solutions.
