Job description

Join a global homeware brand as a Supply Chain Operations Manager in Durban. Lead and optimise warehouse and logistics operations, manage stock and dispatch, and drive process improvements. Work closely with Shipping, Quality and Merchandising teams to ensure efficient, accurate, and cost‑effective service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all warehouse activities including receiving, put‑away, storage, order picking, packing, dispatch and returns.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient stock control including regular cycle counts, reconciliations and reporting.
  • Manage space utilisation and layout planning to optimise warehouse capacity and workflow.
  • Oversee local rework, repackaging or ticketing required to meet customer‑specific requirements.
  • Ensure the warehouse is adequately resourced and equipped in line with receipt and dispatch cycles.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse productivity, accuracy and cost efficiency.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline operational processes and interfaces with other departments (e.g. Shipping, Customer Service, Merchandising).
  • Contribute to and support systems implementation projects ensuring operational requirements are defined, tested and adopted effectively.
  • Use data and analytics to track operational performance, identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Coordinate the planning and execution of dispatch schedules in line with customer delivery timelines.
  • Work closely with shipping and transport providers to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery to customer distribution centres.
  • Resolve logistics or supply disruptions proactively to minimise customer impact.
  • Lead, coach and develop the warehouse team to ensure high performance, accountability and engagement.
  • Establish and monitor clear KPIs and performance standards for warehouse operations.
  • Promote a culture of safety, efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety standards, OHS requirements and internal operating procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records for audits, compliance and reporting purposes.
  • Implement best practices for safe material handling, storage and workplace organisation.
Requirements
  • Minimum 7‑10 years experience in supply chain, warehousing or logistics operations with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing warehouse operations in an import/distribution environment (homewares, consumer goods or similar).
  • Demonstrated involvement in system implementation or process automation projects.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management systems (ERP/WMS).
  • Excellent problem‑solving, planning and organisational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to influence across teams.
