An esteemed auditing firm in Cape Town is seeking a Supervisor in their Audit Division to assist with managing client portfolios and supervising trainee accountants. Job title: Supervisor - Audit

Job location: Western Cape, Cape Town

Deadline: January 31

Moore Cape Town is looking for a Supervisor in our Audit Division to begin on 1 February (or earlier, if available). Minimum Requirements
  • Preparation of IFRS and IFRS for SME's annual financial statements
  • Knowledge of IT systems including Microsoft Office and Caseware
  • Management of multiple (three to five) assignments simultaneously
  • Demonstrated an active role in reviewing juniors' work and providing on-the-job training
  • Exposure to large private equity companies (would be advantageous)
  • Experience auditing group companies (would be advantageous)
  • Preparation and review of consolidated financial statements of listed entities (would be advantageous)
Minimum level of Education/Qualifications and experience required
  • SAICA Training contract – Audit & Assurance elective
  • APC (preferable) or
  • IAC / be eligible to write IAC in January

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Main Purpose of Position: The primary focus will be to assist the department managers in managing the client portfolios, supervise the development of SAICA trainee accountants and to supervise the day-to-day activities of the Department.
Position Overview
  • Plan, manage, and finalise audit assignments
  • Supervise and support audit teams daily
  • Maintain client and staff portfolios
  • Handle client queries and liaise with partners and managers
  • Stay updated on technical developments
  • Prepare budgets, fee sheets, and monitor team productivity
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Participate in planning and finalisation meetings
  • Resolve SARS-related queries and manage client communications
