Job Purpose

To ensure profitable relationships between internal stakeholders by managing legal and recovery portfolios through relationship building in order to achieve Nedbank's strategic objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients by understanding their needs, communicating effectively, acting on feedback, and delivering on client expectations.
  • Retain and grow mutual business with existing and new clients through regular engagement and interactions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders through collaboration, information sharing, and feedback.
  • Contribute to a culture that supports transformation goals by participating in Nedbank culture-building initiatives.
  • Participate in and support corporate responsibility initiatives aligned with business strategy (e.g., Green Strategy).
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes and systems to add value to Nedbank.
  • Monitor departmental performance daily and communicate results as per standard procedures.
  • Optimize outputs by evaluating resource utilization and channel effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations for transactions, proposals, and documentation.
  • Address work obstacles promptly, managing cases individually and escalating when necessary.
  • Share industry changes and legislative updates with internal stakeholders.
  • Source business opportunities from internal departments, maintaining internal relationships.
  • Deliver project and financial results by negotiating internal requirements and risk parameters.
  • Advise stakeholders through reporting and engagement on recovery practices and processes.
  • Align systems, processes, services, and solutions with Nedbank's and business unit plans to support strategic objectives.
  • Identify training and career development opportunities for self, completing personal development plans on time.
  • Share industry knowledge and trends during formal and informal interactions.
  • Gain support for developing new or improved processes to enhance stakeholder operations, highlighting benefits to facilitate implementation.

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  • Advanced Diplomas / National 1st Degrees

Preferred Qualification

  • Degree in Business / Finance / Marketing (e.g., BCom, Certified Associate of the Institute of Bankers)

Minimum Experience Level

  • 8-10 years in Collections and Recoveries, with at least 5 years in management and 3 years in a senior management role.
