Our client, a multinational company, global leader in the chemical sector, is currently looking for a Specification (Specifier) Sales Consultant to join their team based in Durban.

Purpose of the job:

As a Specifier Consultant, your primary objective will be to ensure profitable sales of our products by maintaining strong customer relationships. You will be responsible for securing, generating, and monitoring precise specifications for professional specifiers, thereby contributing to our margin and volume sales targets. This role includes promoting the benefits of our brands, colors, services, and technical support.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Build solid relationships.
  2. Increase market share and brand awareness.
  3. Improve operational efficiency.
  4. Conduct inspections and provide color guidance.
  5. Support the sales team and other functional departments.

Level of autonomy:

You will have the autonomy to propose market-leading solutions for building and infrastructure specifications, effectively resolve complaints related to customers or products, and plan weekly and monthly call cycles.

Job requirements:

  1. Education: Minimum Grade 12 / Level 4 qualification. Ideally a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years sales experience within the FMCG / Coatings / Architectural environment.
  2. Ability to develop excellent customer relationships.
  3. Capacity to use market/customer insights to maintain a market-leading position.
  4. Strong influencing and interpersonal skills.
  5. Knowledge in paint/coatings.
  6. Excellent computer skills.
  7. Driving license and availability to travel.
