Anticipated Contract End Date/Length: 3-6 months to start (potential to be ongoing support)

Work set up: Hybrid partial in-office work in Cape Town

Our client, a leading global financial infrastructure and data provider is looking for a Social Media Specialist to support the planning and execution of social media publishing across multiple brands and subsidiaries within their organization.

This role reports to the Head of Social Media and sits within a global center of excellence responsible for strategic experience, paid social, community management, and reporting within the Corporate Affairs and Marketing function. The ideal candidate will assess, strategize, and consult on the best methods and approaches for social media campaigns aligned with strategic objectives. This role requires the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a highly matrixed organization, with strong attention to detail, persistence, and a results-driven mindset. The complexity of the organization and its global reach presents a unique opportunity to shape a best-in-class organic social strategy.

What you will do:

  • Implement, analyze, and optimize social media campaigns, including reporting results across the business.
  • Analyze performance data and optimize campaigns to increase ROI.
  • Develop strategic media and measurement plans based on stakeholder objectives and KPIs.
  • Strategize and recommend the most effective social execution tactics based on stakeholder briefs.
  • Rework, optimize, and improve briefed adverts using platform-specific formatting knowledge.
  • Assess and incorporate campaign metrics into strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure cross-channel efficiencies.
  • Manage campaign and regional budgets, including planning and forecasting to ensure timely and effective use of funds.
  • Report campaign data and generate actionable insights for stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Identify engagement opportunities for tactical accounts to maximize reach and accelerate user engagement.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify best practices and promote innovative social media concepts across the organization.
  • Serve as the go-to expert for social media, keeping the department informed of successes, learnings, trends, targeting strategies, and creative formats.
Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of social media platform functionalities, especially LinkedIn, and campaign management interfaces.
  • Strong stakeholder management with excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple active campaigns and optimize them to meet goals.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Experience in social-first creative development aligned with global branding standards.
  • Ability to use campaign data insights to inform and refine activities.
  • Skilled in providing best practice guidance and training for stakeholders.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and eager to learn and think laterally.
  • Familiarity with test-and-learn or A/B testing methodologies.
  • Proficient in customer targeting and segmentation.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate positively and drive improvement.
  • Comfortable working in a large, matrixed organization and collaborating with global teams across time zones.
  • Adaptable to the evolving nature of social media, including trends, regulations, platforms, and tools.
