Responsibilities

Preferred qualifications/attributes/skills
  • Grade 12 (Matric) qualification

  • Relevant experience in a managerial or similar position for at least 5 years
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques of risk management, business impact analysis and counter measures
  • Knowledge of tools and systems which provide access security control
  • Must have confidence in dealing with public
  • Bilingual (English and any other South African language)
  • First aid and firefighting will be advantageous
  • Excellent written & verbal communication
  • Computer literate and knowledge of MS office
  • The ability to communicate and present to all levels and work pressure
  • Must be willing to undergo a polygraph test
  • Clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record
  • Valid drivers license & own reliable transport
  • A valid Limpopo Gambling Board license.
  • Competence as an Incident Investigator.
  • Sound knowledge of Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) principles.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in security and surveillance systems, including CCTV, access control, alarm monitoring, and incident management software.
  • Leadership and management skills to effectively hire, train, schedule, supervise, and motivate a security team.
  • Regulatory knowledge of all relevant gaming laws, internal controls, and compliance requirements to ensure operational integrity.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, particularly in high-pressure situations such as disputes or emergencies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective engagement with guests, staff, senior management, and law enforcement, as well as for accurate inciden reporting.
  • High levels of integrity and discretion to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Keen attention to detail to identify suspicious behavior and potential security risks.
  • Willingness and ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and events.
  • The ability to operate effectively within a busy casino environment characterized by loud noises, flashing lights, and exposure to secondhand smoke.
