Job description
Overall Purpose of the Role

Provide direct supervision and support to the Johannesburg-based Site Liaison Officers (SLO) team, ensuring professional, efficient, and high-quality service delivery to International SOS employees and clients. This role also drives service excellence across the MEA region by scoping SLO needs, promoting operational efficiency, and supporting profitability. It involves close collaboration with regional and country‑level stakeholders to implement continuous improvements and uphold quality standards.



Core Responsibilities


SLO Team Leadership & Performance


  • Supervise, mentor, and appraise SLOs based on KPIs and development plans

  • Manage absenteeism, recruitment, onboarding, and training

  • Drive operational excellence and digital transformation

  • Lead structured meetings with HR, Finance, and Operations

  • Oversee ORYX and Kronos systems access, training, and support



Staff Logistics & Rotations


  • Manage travel bookings, visa compliance, and accommodation

  • Approve purchase orders and coordinate staff mobilization

  • Ensure accurate roster planning and staff availability



Administration & Communication


  • Ensure timely payroll and timesheet submissions

  • Respond to staff queries within 24 hours

  • Manage client‑rechargeable expenses and support reporting



Customer Service


  • Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders

  • Promote a culture of professionalism and service excellence

  • Address staff concerns and ensure site‑level support



Cost Control


  • Optimize rosters and handovers to reduce costs

  • Analyze expenses and reconcile billing discrepancies

  • Provide regular financial insights to support decisions



Reporting


  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting across service centres

  • Maintain data integrity and represent responsibilities in meetings



Leadership


  • Foster a collaborative and motivating work environment

  • Promote open communication and professional behavior

  • Act as a mentor and role model for the team



Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S)


  • Train and supervise staff on safe practices and PPE usage

  • Monitor OH&S systems and ensure legal compliance

  • Maintain welfare facilities and conduct risk assessments

  • Encourage staff to report hazards and follow safety protocols
