Role Mission : As the SHEQ Manager, your mission is to align the company with the Epiroc way, global processes, and compliance standards. You will execute strategies to establish industry benchmarks in low-profile underground drilling, material handling, and utility vehicles. A key part of your role is supporting the organization with SHEQ leadership, culture training, KPIs, and follow-up reports to cultivate a successful safety and sustainability culture. You will handle daily operational challenges and long-term strategies to ensure long-term competitiveness and set industry standards. This includes leading an agile, efficient, and high-performing team of motivated employees with the right competence, flexibility, gender diversity, and positive attitudes. As a management team member, you will help develop a cohesive team working towards common goals, focusing on passionate people, growth, and profitability. Your Key Responsibilities : Safety and Sustainability : Promote gender diversity with a 50% mindset in every recruitment and substantial improvements each year. Own local initiatives related to our 2030 environmental targets, ensuring processes minimize resource usage and reduce environmental risks. Ensure an effective safety management system is in place, enabling risk and incident reporting, risk elimination, and safety culture improvements. Own the safety and environmental KPIs for Operations, compiling the quarterly sustainability report. Maintain ISO certification in line with Group directives and manage ISO audits to contribute to better business results. Keep the management system up to date, using it actively for our standards and processes, forming the base for continuous improvement. Ensure processes for monitoring SHEQ legal compliance and offer SHEQ-related training. Leadership : Be a role model and a visible ambassador for our company values and business code of conduct. Develop a high-performing team with high psychological safety, fostering an agile and innovative organization. Ensure customer centricity and create an inspiring and inclusive workplace where we grow people and talent. Develop and communicate a strategy for your department, ensuring your team and colleagues have a clear mission. Develop processes, KPIs, follow-up structures, and improvement forums to enable organizational effectiveness and efficiency. Develop an integration roadmap for your function, guiding your team as roles and reporting lines change and new skills are learned. Growth : Ensure a successful integration of AARD and PC Chamdor, making them a group benchmark for integrating acquired companies while balancing business and internal alignment. Deliver on PC Chamdor's committed targets and performance KPIs, supporting the organization with SHEQ management analyses and suggesting actions, such as CO2 reduction and waste recycling. Collaborate with managers to ensure SHEQ improvements while capturing new business opportunities such as new markets, products, and internal efficiencies. Operational Excellence : Increase automation and digitization, reducing errors, increasing efficiency, and minimizing single competence dependency. Create a plan for controlling documents in SharePoint as per the Epiroc Way, ensuring user-friendliness. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of safety and sustainability, with visibility to affected managers. Lead efforts to ensure compliance with internal and external audits through established processes, systems, and policies. Create and maintain business risk analysis and action plans, making SHEQ part of business planning to ensure enough resources and competence to support SHEQ expectations. Requirements : Extensive experience within the industry; manufacturing experience is an advantage, or similar. Experience of safety and sustainability management in an industrial setting. Deep knowledge of South African laws within the area. Deep knowledge of relevant ISO standards and how to implement and maintain them. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Transformational leadership skills in a VUCA world. Strong stakeholder management. Change management and transformational leadership. Team player with the courage to act.
