A vacancy exists for a Senior Stock controller at the Life Entabeni Hospital. The successful candidate will contribute to the effective functioning and co-ordination of stock for all the wards & Theatres and will report to the Theatre Manager.
Critical Outputs
- Managing the procurement, control and distribution of surgical stock within the surgical stores department and the relevant wards/ theatre’s.
- Utilising and maintaining MRPs within the hospital and daily ordering of stock to ensure a quality pharmaceutical service.
- Asset management to ensure security of stock and to minimize loss due to redundancy.
- Managing and maintaining stock holding and stock days.
- Active involvement in stock-takes and cycle counts including the investigation of variances.
- Dead stock, overstock and short dated stock management.
- Capturing and handling of product complaints.
- Develop and maintain sound relationships with internal customers to achieve co-operation and compliance with audit processes.
- Ensuring a culture of quality in our business and operational excellence.
- Control and distribution of consignment and loan stock.
- Implementing and maintaining the LHC formulary- utilising VBC, Qerent and procurement dashboards to identify opportunities.
- Doctor discussions pertaining to formulary or best cost conversions.
- Management of Hazardous substances.
- Resolving queries from relevant stakeholders.
- Managing MIR6, GRIR and unrecorded liabilities.
- Any other task that the line manager may deem necessary.
- Assisting in pulling of ward stock.
- Management of non-recoverable stock.
Requirements
- Grade 12.
- Sound knowledge of at least 3 years on stock control in a hospital environment.
- A working knowledge of SAP will be an advantage.
- Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage.
- A person who is result orientated, pays attention to detail, has excellent interpersonal as well as communication skills is needed.
- Collaboration with relevant stakeholders such as doctors, nurses and suppliers.
- Customer focus, a commitment towards continuous improvement and the ability to work independently.
- Computer proficiency is essential.
- Knowledge of inventory control, management, processes, procedures and practices.
- Good organizational skills are essential as well as attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Able to work under pressure as well as being able to work as part of a team.
