Are you an experienced Senior Project Manager with a passion for delivering complex IT projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards?

An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic Senior Project Manager to join a leading organisation within their technology division. This role is ideal for a Cape Town-based professional with a strong background in software development and a proven track record in leading full lifecycle IT projects.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of high-impact technology projects, working closely with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed project plans including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects successfully and on schedule
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, managing expectations and reporting progress
  • Identify and mitigate risks to ensure project objectives are achieved
  • Manage budgets, ensuring cost-efficiency and adherence to financial targets
  • Champion quality assurance across all project deliverables
  • Foster a collaborative and performance-driven team environment
  • Drive continuous improvement through post-project reviews and knowledge sharing
Requirements
  • A relevant IT Degree or Diploma
  • A recognised project management certification (PMP or equivalent)
  • Minimum 10 years in the IT industry, with at least 5 years in software development
  • Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and project management methodologies
  • Proven experience working in Agile and Scrum environments
  • Financial Services or Insurance industry experience is highly advantageous
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, and MS Office
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
