Job Purpose
Responsible for drafting commercial agreements and providing legal advisory services to manage legal and contractual risks, ensure compliance with laws, and adhere to Group Commercial Legal guidelines, contributing to a secure and profitable organization.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Advisory
- Negotiate commercial interests across various functions within Blue Label Telecoms Group.
- Possess thorough knowledge of commercial law, capable of drafting and advising on operational commercial contracts. Knowledge in Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Finance is an advantage.
- Provide legal advice and opinions.
- Advise Regulatory and Compliance departments on compliance and regulatory matters.
- Manage and participate in legal aspects of projects across departments.
- Manage litigation and participate in dispute resolution.
- Maintain legal relationships with operations and trade partners.
- Demonstrate a positive, outcome-focused personality capable of working independently.
- Liaise with external law firms.
- Ensure all commercial standards and expectations are met throughout projects.
- Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Track and enforce key contract terms.
- Assist in developing methodologies, change management, governance, and legal terms.
- Manage contractual compliance and address non-adherence issues.
- Support contract fulfillment and serve as a business advisor on contracts.
- Ensure legal expertise is incorporated into contract drafts and templates.
Strategy and Planning
- Contribute to the creation of sub-divisional strategies aligned with divisional goals, focusing on client experience.
- Support the implementation of strategies through direction, structure, business planning, and support.
Legal Risk Management
- Review and advise on legal matters and ongoing cases.
- Coordinate with departments to address identified legal risks and take appropriate actions.
- Provide legal protection and risk management advice, especially regarding contract management.
- Ensure compliance with legal risk management policies company-wide.
- Review contracts and documents for legal implications and inform management accordingly.
- Advise on legal aspects of internal policies and procedures.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and modifying contractual instruments for business activities.
- Support the Risk and Compliance Department in developing compliance checklists.
- Monitor statutory obligations and advise management on compliance.
- Prepare litigation reports for the business.
