Overview
SENIOR GROUP ACCOUNTANT (HYBRID) - R900k-R720k pa - SEA POINT
To ensure the financial health and integrity of the group by managing, processing, and overseeing all accounting activities for the group. Ensure compliance with regulatory/legal compliance and provide accurate and timely financial reports to support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Accurate financial reporting: Deliver accurate and timely consolidated financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Ensure all reports are compliant with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Assist with other reporting requirements from lenders, shareholders, etc.
- Regulatory/legal compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting regulations and ensure all financial practices adhere to local and international accounting IFRS standards. In conjunction with the CFO, successfully managed audits with no significant findings.
- Efficient processing: Handle all day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and reconciliations, with exceptional discipline and reliability. Ensure high accuracy and efficiency in processing transactions.
- Process improvement: Identify and implement improvements in accounting workflows and financial reporting processes. Enhance efficiency and accuracy in processing tasks and reporting timelines.
- Financial analysis: Conduct financial analysis and forecasts to support business strategy and decision-making. Provide insights on trends, variances, and areas for improvement, and present findings to the CFO.
- Budget management: Prepare and monitor the group's budgets. Implement and adhere to budgetary controls, providing explanations for any variances. Compare actuals to budgeted figures per financial model.
- Stakeholder management: Communicate financial information effectively to internal and external stakeholders, including senior management and auditors. Address and resolve financial inquiries or issues promptly.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience as a senior accountant or similar role, supporting CFO.
- Accounting qualification required (SAIPA, SAICA, CIMA, AGA, etc.).
- Experience in dealing with African countries is preferred but not required.
- Xero accounting software experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience in compiling financial statements in CaseWare is required.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel is preferred (pivot tables, macros) but not required.
- Experience in working with financial models is preferred but not required.

Experience

Compensation
- Annual CTCC between R900k-R720k incl quarterly discretionary bonus.

- Highly competitive salary package: Basic - up to R 60k pm PLUS eligibility for quarterly discretionary bonus of around R 14k pm paid out per quarter (R42k pq) so approx CTC of R 74k pm for top performers
