Job Description

  • RPO’s client is seeking a skilled and strategically minded Senior Credit Risk Advisor to join their high-performing team in Durban.
  • This role is ideal for a seasoned credit risk professional who can manage client risk across regions, develop teams, and contribute significantly to operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
  • You will be responsible for leading credit risk initiatives, coaching a team, and driving excellence across all facets of financial risk management and advisory.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage risk across national and regional client portfolios, ensuring early identification of threats
  • Lead and mentor a team of credit risk and recovery specialists, promoting operational excellence
  • Advise clients on credit insurance, financial policies, and business continuity strategies
  • Conduct regular client visits, debtor meetings, and legal escalations where necessary
  • Oversee credit applications, insurance claims, declarations, and reporting processes
  • Collaborate with attorneys, insurers, and internal teams to manage collections and recoveries
  • Promote full service offerings and identify opportunities for strategic partnerships
  • Monitor team and individual performance, budgets, and client satisfaction metrics
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Law, or Business Management
  • FSCA accreditation
  • At least 5 years’ experience in credit risk management or advisory roles
  • Previous leadership experience and exposure to credit insurers advantageous
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in financial reporting and MS Office
