Introduction

This position will be based on Site in Aggeneys, Northern Cape.

Description

A Senior Contracts Administrator’s primary responsibility will be to ensure that the supply chain operations and activities are compliant with Minopex’s policies. It will play a vital role in promoting ethical conduct, sustainable practices, and risk mitigation within the supply chain. Focus will be on monitoring and assessing suppliers, conducting audits, developing policies and procedures, and fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organisation.

Qualification Requirements
  • Matric (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification registered at NQF Level 4, including relevant NATED courses (e.g., N3 Certificate)
  • CIPS Qualification preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, law, or a related field
Experience and Skills Requirements
  • Extensive experience (5+ years) in supply chain management, compliance, or related roles within the mining industry.
  • Strong knowledge of contract management principles, legal requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex contract terms and negotiate agreements.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Solid organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Contract Management: Manage the full lifecycle of contracts, including drafting, reviewing, tendering, negotiating, and finalizing agreements for various mining projects. Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate contract records, databases, and documentation. Prepare regular reports on contract status, milestones, and risks. Provide timely updates to stakeholders and management regarding contract-related matters.
  • Contract Negotiation: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to negotiate and finalize contract terms and conditions. Identify potential risks, conflicts, and issues, and develop appropriate strategies to mitigate them.
  • Contract Modifications and Amendments: Facilitate contract modifications, extensions, and amendments as necessary. Coordinate with relevant parties to ensure timely implementation and documentation of changes.
  • Relationship Management: Foster positive working relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders. Serve as a primary point of contact for contractual matters, addressing queries, resolving disputes, and maintaining professional communication.
  • Contract Performance Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate contract performance, including deliverables, timelines, and quality standards. Identify and address any deviations or non-compliance issues. Collaborate with project teams to ensure effective contract execution.
  • Contract Closeout: Coordinate the timely and accurate closure of contracts, including conducting final reviews, obtaining necessary approvals, and facilitating contract closure documentation.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with contracts and develop risk mitigation strategies. Ensure that contracts comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Cost Control: Monitor contract costs and budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness. Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Negotiation and Sourcing: Participate in contract negotiations and supplier sourcing. Collaborate with procurement teams to secure favourable terms and conditions.
  • Team Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to Data Clerk.
