Job summary

A finance recruitment agency in Cape Town is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant to join a dynamic team. The ideal candidate must have a Matric and a relevant accounting degree or certificate, along with strong skills in Advanced Excel. Responsibilities include preparing month-end accounts, investigating budget variances, and ensuring effective financial controls. Responsibilities

  • Prepare month-end accounts up to Management Accounts level.
  • Investigate variances to budget.
  • Overall reconciliation of accounts for accurate reporting.

  • Highly computer literate - ADVANCED EXCEL
  • ZERO experience and knowledge would be advantageous
  • Strong communication skills - ability to solve problems
Duties

Prepare:

  • Issuing invoices
  • Preparing the month end accounts up to Management Accounts level
  • Investigating variances to budget
  • Overall reconciliation of the accounts to ensure that all costs and revenues have been accounted for
  • Preparing monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts
  • Releasing of payments in Bank
  • Prepare for year end audit
  • Preparing Cash management interest calculation
  • Managing relevant areas of the annual budget
Other
  • Maintaining effective financial controls
  • Contribution to the daily functioning of the finance team and its performance
  • Assisting the Financial Executive with ad hoc assignments
