Overview

SSK currently has the following career opportunity at its Seed Department in Riversdale. The suitable candidate will oversee the commissioning and certification of all seed and will ensure the quality, purity, and compliance of all seed within the established standards and regulations. This includes thorough inspections, performing tests, and providing accurate assessments of seed quality to support the agricultural industry in producing high-quality crops and maintaining seed quality.


Responsibilities


  • Maintaining an accurate record of seed commissioning activities, including inspection findings, test results, and certification documents, to ensure traceability and accountability.

  • Timely registration for multiplication, SANSOR field inspections.

  • Ensuring to reconcile the commissioned and other inventory on hand with the system inventory.

  • Familiarize with the specific crop, variety, and seed production requirements.

  • Staying informed with regulations that impact seed quality, certification, and distribution.

  • Treatment of seed according to legal requirements.


Requirements


  • Grade 12 (Matric) certificate with Grading Courses in small grains

  • An SANSOR Inspector Course would be an advantage

  • At least 3 years’ experience in the Grain or Seed Industry

  • Experience as a Grain Grader will be an advantage
