Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Sawmill Manager to oversee the daily operations of our timber processing facility.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production ensuring quality standards and lead a motivated workforce to achieve operational efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise all sawmill operations and staff
  • Ensure production targets quality standards and deadlines are met.
  • Oversee maintenance and safe operations of machinery
  • Monitor inventory raw material usage and output
  • Drive efficiency improvements and cost control measures
  • Report on production performance to the board of directors
  • Interaction with all customers and timber suppliers
  • Yearly budget planning and presentation
  • Uphold and maintain a respectful relationship with employees and employee discipline
Requirements
  • Proven experience in sawmill or timber industry management
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must have a good understanding of finance
  • Strong communication skills in English and Zulu
  • Have a South African ID
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and team management skills
