The role involves delivering comprehensive financial planning guidance to clients, ensuring a seamless and superior client service aligned with established business protocols. As a financial planner at the company, the individual must provide appropriate financial advice in line with the client’s financial goals and planned lifestyle needs. The emphasis is on enabling positive financial futures for clients and protecting their assets and estate. The financial planner is responsible for managing and growing a client base, providing expert financial advice, and fostering long-term relationships. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping clients navigate their financial journey.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Management:

  • Conduct comprehensive financial assessments to understand clients' current financial situations, goals, and aspirations.
  • Oversee and regularly review the portfolio of clients, adhering to established business protocols.
  • Deliver continuous service excellence to existing clients in line with service standards.
  • Guide prospective clients in making informed financial decisions and executing recommended plans.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and regulatory compliance in all advice and operations.
  • Report regularly on activities to the Business Manager.

Financial Planning:

  • Develop and implement holistic financial plans tailored to clients' unique needs and objectives.
  • Provide guidance on investment strategies, retirement planning, risk management, and estate planning.
  • Engage clients on the best fit-for-purpose product and/or solution in adhering to the cycle of financial needs.

CFP Designation and Professional Development:

  • The candidate needs to hold the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
  • Continually update knowledge on financial services, industry trends, regulations, best practices, and economic developments.

Business Development and Networking:

  • Proactively identify opportunities for business growth within the existing client base.
  • Grow the business through networking to foster professional connections and promote the firm, ongoing client interaction and relationship management, referrals, and servicing supplied leads.
  • Contribute to marketing efforts to attract new clients and expand the practice’s reach in the local community.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Collaborate with the support team to develop comprehensive, compliant financial plans, cash flow projections, and suitability reports.
  • Engage in regular communication and knowledge-sharing activities with colleagues.
  • Contribute to business process improvements and client relationship enhancement.

Competency:

  • Successful candidates for the role will have the following personal and professional attributes:
  • Client-focused, self-motivated, passionate, and enthusiastic.
  • Confident, accountable, hands-on, and technically competent.
  • Skilled communicator with good people management skills (staff and clients).

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
  • Minimum 3 years financial industry experience (preferably as a financial planner, but also paraplanner and relevant product provider role).
  • RE5, Class of Business (COB), and relevant CPD credits.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, engineering, or a related field will be a benefit.
  • Able to work well under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
