Our client, a leading transport organisation, is seeking a strategic and administratively strong Regional HR Manager to lead the full HR function for their Northern region.

This is a senior role for a comprehensive HR generalist who excels in HR systems, payroll administration, policy implementation, and budget management within a complex, multi-union environment.

Requirements
  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management.
  • A post-graduate degree is advantageous
  • 7+ years of progressive, generalist HR experience, with a proven track record in HR Administration, Payroll liaison, and HR Systems management
  • At least 5 years of experience in a managerial HR capacity, with full responsibility for an HR function.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office and hands‑on experience with computerised HR, Payroll, and Time & Attendance systems
  • A valid driver's license (Code 8 / EB).
  • Critical Note: While experience in a unionized environment is essential, candidates whose backgrounds are primarily in Industrial / Labour Relations, without strong HR administrative and management expertise, will not be suitable
Responsibilities
  • Lead HR operations with focus on compliance and administrative excellence

  • Manage HR budget and support operational planning
  • Maintain personnel records and employment conditions across Bargaining Councils
  • Develop and enforce HR policies, procedures, and processes
