QUARRY CONTROL / PRODUCTION AND MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

Location: King Williams Town (KWT)

Job Overview

We are seeking a hands‑on and experienced Quarry Control / Production and Maintenance Supervisor to oversee quarry operations, production targets, equipment maintenance, and safety compliance at our hard rock site in King Williams Town. The successful candidate will ensure the smooth running of daily production activities while upholding quality, efficiency, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations

• Oversee and coordinate the supply of raw materials.
• Monitor daily production totals and stock levels.
• Ensure all production targets are met efficiently and safely.
• Communicate production and sales figures to relevant departments.
• Report all work and production updates during InVocoms.

Equipment & Plant Maintenance

• Schedule and plan routine and preventative maintenance of vehicles and machines.
• Ensure all production machinery is operational, fuelled, and checked daily.
• Inspect all hoppers, tanks, separation equipment, and pumps for functionality and wear.
• Ensure no pump gland leaks and that all equipment is running optimally.
• Oversee waste removal and material separation processes.

Safety & Quality Control

• Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure all safety guards and equipment are in place.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and prepare for safety audits.
• Manage water and silt dams to ensure environmental compliance.

Staff & HR Functions

• Supervise production teams and manage timekeeping records.
• Communicate with the payroll department regarding attendance and disciplinary issues.
• Coordinate training schedules and ensure staff are equipped with the necessary skills.
• Communicate production targets and sales requirements to staff.

Strategic & Planning

• Plan and manage mining operations to meet operational goals.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency, safety, and output.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on field experience in a hard rock quarry or similar environment.
• Mechanical knowledge and equipment servicing experience essential.
• Strong understanding of production processes and plant maintenance.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Training certificates in relevant areas (mechanical, safety, mining, etc.)
• Valid drivers license (advantageous)
