Job Title: Quantity Surveyor - Junior

Location: Irene - Pretoria

Salary: Market related (depending on experience and qualifications)

Vacancy Type: Full-Time

Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required :

  • BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying.
  • 1 - 2 years experience working on projects (mining development projects will be beneficial).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of MS Projects, WinQS and DimX.
  • Quality and attention to detail must be exceptional.
  • Management of resources is key to this position.
  • Must have Consulting experience - experience working for a QS company.
Responsibilities
  1. Preparing estimates of construction costs
  2. Measurement of building quantities for bill preparation and final accounts
  3. Drafting Bills of Quantities
  4. Site visits and site measurements
  5. Preparing valuations for issue of interim payment certificates
  6. Assisting with cost management of construction projects
  7. Preparing and concluding final accounts
  8. Complying with basic office rules and procedures
  9. Complying with the procedures laid down by The South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP)
  10. Attending all in-house seminars and workshops
  11. Obtaining the required computer literacy and skills
  12. Working in conjunction with other staff
  13. Ensuring compliance with the firm’s quality management systems, including establishing a full knowledge of the quality and practice manuals
