Candidates should have an ND/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with at least 3 years of quality experience in a stamping environment within the automotive industry. Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience in Process Engineering or Quality discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Identify and implement scrap reduction initiatives.
  • Ensure quality of incoming components and overall plant output.
  • Respond to customer quality issues efficiently.
  • Conduct internal audits in compliance with ISO/TS 16949 standards.

Job description

Job Title: Quality Engineer

Location: Berlin

Work Schedule: Must be prepared to work shifts

Primary Purpose

The Quality Engineer will develop, implement, and maintain Quality Assurance systems to ensure the delivery of high-quality parts to both internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update the Quality Management System (QMS) and all related process control documents.
  • Identify, implement, and monitor scrap reduction initiatives.
  • Ensure quality of incoming components and overall plant output.
  • Serve as the primary contact for customer quality issues and respond promptly to complaints.
  • Facilitate problem-solving initiatives within the plant.
  • Manage and coach subordinates to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Analyze measuring reports and ensure accurate documentation and reporting.
  • Conduct internal audits in compliance with ISO/TS 16949 standards.
Requirements
Required Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems and standards (ISO/TS 16949).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes: stamping, welding, and customer processes.
  • Proficiency with measuring equipment and report analysis.
  • Experience with Quality Core Tools: PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC.
  • Leadership and team facilitation capabilities.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Ability to write reports and deliver presentations effectively.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education: ND/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; qualified Tool, Jig, and Die Maker (N4) advantageous.
  • Training: Core tools (PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC); computer literate.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3 years in quality within a manufacturing environment.
    • Minimum 3 years in a stamping environment within the automotive industry.
    • Minimum 3 years in Process Engineering or a Quality discipline.
  • Qualifications: NQF Level 5 or equivalent.
